Pretend City

After I checked out Iris's Blog about Pretend City, we went to there the past weekend.  We have spent about 2-3 hours there. I think it is really a cute little place.. and kids all seems to have lots of fun.  We brought in our own lunch - Mcdonalds.. so that is definitely a good start !!! The concept of the place is that The kids can pretent they are working in different jobs and they will have salary at the end of their hard work. 

So Isabella & Annabel went to the farm to work for a very short time, they picked apples and vegetbales.  Then they realized gardening is not for them, so they quickly switched job to Ralphs. I wan't if  it is because of the job description not clear or not, they were not doing what they suppose to (restock the product).. they actually started to pick up a shopping cart and start buying stuffs... hahahah very soon, they realized they had no money to pay for the food.. (very real life education hahaha).. so we had to put all the stuff back on the shelf and start working again.. We went to the restaurant nextdoor, so Grandma and I ordered some food, and Bella and Annabel spend some good time cooking in the back kitchen, they brought out yummy ramen and occasionally sushi in a bowl!! They also tried out different area of work.e.g. fireman  (hahah daddy too), performers, artist, doctor and actoress etc...

I asked Bella, which part do you like the most? She said, it was the story telling time.. since the story teller had created a brand new story just for her titled " Princess Isabella with the Lost Barbie".

We are almost done...

One thing after another.. our kitchen remodeling project has been delayed for another week.. but at least.. we are now at the final stage... we are going to paint the wall tomorrow.. so now I have to start planning on how to put all the stuff back in the cabinet hahah.. another tough job.  So hopefully we will have functional kitchen next week!! I will review more photos once it is done...

Life without a Kitchen

We had a water leak around the end of May, and we have been struggle with the mold remediation and drying of the places for several weeks. Then after 4th of July, we had to take down the kitchen to start our kitchen remodeling process. It has been almost 3 months that we live without a kitchen. It is surely not easy.. Now I just realized how important the kitchen is (even thou I don't cook ahahahah). We are at the end of our remodeling process.. so hopefully we will see the light at the end of the tunnel. We will get to see our new kitchen soon.....

Labor Day Weekend

We went to the beach during labor day weekend. This time, we went there around 5pm. After a quick dinner, the kids ran down to the beach to enjoy the waves and sunset.

I always love to watch sunset by the beach.. but never really get to see the whole process. This time, I also didn't get to see the whole thing, as I was busy taking photos of my kids. I didn't even realized when the sun gone down. But luckily, my photos capture the sunset for me. So I can enjoy it again and again.. But I would say, I definitley will love to go back again.. as every sunset is different!

First day of School

Today is the first day of school for both of my girls.  Isabella will be attending Kindergarten and Annabel will attend Preschool.  Simon and I both dropped them off.

Luckily Isabella attended the summer camp, so she can play with some of the friends that she knew in summer. She also lucky enough to have two of her old classmates from Christian Montessori.  So she adjusts very well without any issues. 

Annabel went into the classmates and hugged the teacher right away.  We left the room as soon as we said "Bye" and she didn't even look for us, she just kept on checking out the rooms!  I guess she can't wait to play with all the new toys and things in the room.

When I picked them up, they seems to be enjoying themselves as well.  Annabel was listening to the teacher reading a story books, and Isabella was playing with other kids.  Thankfully, we had a good First day of school!!

Getting ready to school

Now that two kids will go to school tomorrow!  I almost feel like I have officially started new stage of being a mom.

It started with a long school supply lists. It is not easy to finish shopping for two lists (one for kindergarten, one for preschool). But I am still happy with it, since at least I don't need to go buy school books yet.  Then my next task was to buy school uniforms. Yeps uniforms.. it is so much different from back in HK, they only have one fix uniform to select. Over here, you can do your own mix and match from selected items.. e.g. jumpers, skirt, skort, blouse, shirt, polo-shirt, pants and etc to name a few... of course, being shopaholic I bought quiet a few..but I think I still have to wash clothes almost everyday.  The next task was to attend the Sign off day and Back to school nights and welcome dinner. Since we have two kids in preschool and K.. we ended up have to go to school 5 separate times just to attend all those initial meeting.  

Tonight, I am doing the last minute preparation by labeling everything the kids are going to bring and all their school uniforms.  I don't even have time to prep my younger one for preschool hehehe.. I just hope she will be fine on her first day of school!!  It almost feels like I am the one getting ready for school not my kids!!
